Hair Colour Allergy Test

The experts at Cloud Nine hairdressing have been colouring hair professionally for over 35 years and we are always striving to be at the top of our game.

Please contact the salon if you have made an appointment for a colour service so that we can check if an AAT (Allergy Alert Test) is required. Although very few people are allergic to hair colour the numbers are rising and the allergy can, in a few cases, have quite serious symptoms.

We are now giving a choice to our guests when they require a colour allergy test, either an AAT test (Allery Alert Test) or a Colourstart HomeTest Kit before a colour appointment.

IF AN AAT TEST IS REQUIRED, WE CANNOT COLOUR YOUR HAIR IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN ALLERGY TESTED BEFOREHAND WITH PAUL MITCHELL HAIR COLOUR OR THE COLOURSTART HOME TEST.

No appointment is needed an AAT test (Allery Alert Test) it just requires requires a visit to the salon 48 to 72 hours before the colour appointment and takes a couple of minutes. If this is not possible, we can send you out a Colour Start Self Test Kit to complete at home. However the home test kit needs five days to complete.

Professional salons will NOT colour your hair without you first being patch tested.

Applying an Allergy Test at Home

If you would like to apply a patch test at home please either pop in and collect a Colourstart kit, or call us so that we can arrange to send you the kit.

THERE IS A COST FOR COLOURSTART TEST KITS

For more information about Colourstart please visit their website at: https://colourstart.com

If you need help applying the patch the following link shows you how.

If you get a reaction around the patch tested area do not worry. Simply remove the patch test with sticky tape and call the salon as soon as possible for expert advice.
